More Pics

Shinjuku Station platform for the JR Yamanote line, on the Yamanote line, outside Yoyogi Station.

Around the Hotel

Stayed at Sunroute Plaza for the first 5-6 days. The price was reasonable and it was only a 5 min walk to the train station. Plenty of food and shopping nearby as well.

Into Tokyo

Took the bus from the airport to Shinjuku. Not much traffic compared to LA. 3rd photo is outside Shinjuku Station. Last photo is the view from the hotel.

Not a Photo

Something I've been working on a little at a time over the past 2 weeks. Still might do more to it.

First View of Japan

My first impression seeing Japan for the first time: it's really hazy, and there's A LOT of buildings, especially industrial looking ones.

Photos

So in what little free time I have these days, I've been going through my Japan photos with the goal of getting them printed in a book eventually. Here's a few of the first ones. Edit: the food and service on ANA was great! Newer jet, very clean, and the entertainment options were many.

light

I'm not sure why, but this light seemed like an interesting thing to sketch. Turned kinda green and desaturated in the jpeg though :(

Another Old One

Revisiting an Old One

I was looking thru my old stuff recently and saw this wasn't really color balanced right, so I had some time this weekend to play around with it. It's still probably not perfect, but much better than it was before. Old one is on top.

Color Corrected

Pulled a lot of the saturation out of the darks and mids, and tried to balance the mountain with the sky better. Slightly higher contrast too.
